Pet Emergency?
Our doctors and staff rotate on call for AFTER HOURS EMERGENCIES that take place outside of our normal business hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other weekend. If your pet is having an emergency, please call your regular vet to get more information on how to properly respond to the emergency.
Call us at 406-442-3160 to schedule an appointment
Due to the demands of veterinary services, we are only taking new owners for vaccination appointments only. If there are other health concerns, please contact your primary veterinarian. If it is a veterinary emergency, we will accept new clients for after hours emergencies only with approval from our on call veterinarian on designated day (see above Pet Emergency?).
The Animal Center Veterinary Hospital is a full-service veterinary facility comprised of a modern hospital, a surgical unit with state of the art anesthesia monitoring equipment, digital radiology, and on-site laboratory. We provide AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY RESPONSE for the care of the community’s animals on a limited basis (see above Pet Emergency? for more information). All visits are by appointment only. Although most of our patients are dogs and cats, we welcome birds, rabbits, ferrets, reptiles, and pocket pets.
The practice was established in the late 1960’s. Since that time it has served the residents of the greater Helena area with high quality, compassionate veterinary care. Combined, our doctors have over 80 years of veterinary experience.
We provide the primary veterinary care for the Lewis & Clark Humane Society, the City of Helena Animal Control, and the Helena Police Department K-9 Unit. As of October 2015, we also provide veterinary care for the Carroll College Anthrozoology Program.
We have a number of resources for you to learn about how to take better care of your pets. Browse around and look at our articles and pet videos. Our clinic is very easy to get to, and you can find directions on our Contact Us page.
At Animal Center Veterinary Hospital, we treat your pets like the valued family members they are. We look forward to seeing you at your next visit!
Scam Alert!
We have been recently notified that there is a scam going around where puppies are advertised for sale online. The seller includes fictitious information that puppies have been examined to be healthy and first vaccinations have been given listing a veterinary clinic. Puppies are sometimes listed at below market value. Instructions are given for a money transfer but no puppies are delivered. When looking for a puppy long distance, please verify all information, including veterinary information, before a transfer is made. Consider adoption from the Lewis & Clark Humane Society where you can personally meet the future member of your family.
